Privacy Policy for Price Planner
Scheidegger Systems ("we," "us," or "our") operates the Price Planner application (the "App") for Shopify. This Privacy Policy describes how personal information and store data are collected, used, and shared when you install or use the App in connection with your Shopify-supported store.
1. Information We Collect
To provide automated price scheduling functionality, we process specific data categories related to your store operations.
A. Merchant Data
When you install the App, we automatically access and collect certain information from your Shopify account:
- Store Identifiers: Store URL, myshopify.com domain, and Shopify Store ID.
- Contact Information: Store owner name and primary account email address.
- Authentication Data: Access tokens required to communicate securely with Shopify APIs.
- Billing Information: Information regarding your App subscription plan (processed securely through Shopify’s Official Billing API; we do not collect or store raw credit card details).
B. Customer Personal Data
Price Planner does NOT collect, store, or process End-Customer Personal Identifiable Information (PII).
Our operations are limited strictly to catalog settings, pricing structures, and scheduled task configurations. We do not access, track, or harvest customer names, email addresses, shipping locations, IP addresses, or checkout activity.
2. API Scopes Requested and Why We Need Them
To perform automated pricing workflows, Price Planner requests specific Shopify API permissions (scopes). We adhere to the principle of least-privilege access:
- read_products & write_products
Purpose: Allows the App to fetch product titles, variant IDs, and current pricing, as well as execute scheduled price updates or revert products back to their original values. - read_price_rules & write_price_rules
Purpose: Enables creation, modification, and management of automated discount rules or price adjustments associated with scheduled promotional campaigns. - read_script_tags & write_script_tags
Purpose: Permits the App to inject light scripts on the storefront when necessary to validate price schedules or render accurate promotional pricing badges in real time.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the collected merchant information solely for the following operational purposes:
- Service Delivery: To schedule, execute, and log automated price updates on products and variants according to your criteria.
- Account Support: To communicate with you regarding schedule execution status, app updates, billing, or customer support requests.
- System Integrity: To ensure accurate timing based on your configured timezone and to maintain secure API connections with Shopify.
4. Data Sharing & Third-Party Processing
We do not sell, rent, or trade merchant data. We only share operational data with trusted third-party service providers (such as cloud hosting and infrastructure vendors) strictly necessary to run the App infrastructure under binding confidentiality agreements.
We may also disclose information if required by law, court order, or governmental regulation.
5. Data Retention & Mandatory Shopify Webhooks
A. Retention Period
We retain store settings, timezone preferences, and scheduled price logs only for as long as the App remains installed on your Shopify store.
B. Automated Purging & Mandatory Webhooks
Our infrastructure fully supports and responds to Shopify’s Mandatory Data Privacy Webhooks:
- app/uninstalled: Upon receiving notice that you have uninstalled the App, all active access tokens, API credentials, and scheduled pricing tasks are permanently invalidated and queued for hard deletion within 30 days.
- shop/redact: Deletes any remaining store-level configuration data associated with your store within 30 days of receiving the request.
- customers/redact: Because Price Planner does not collect or process customer data, any received customer redaction webhook triggers an automated payload verification confirming zero customer data exists within our databases.
6. Merchant Rights (GDPR / CCPA / PIPEDA)
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have specific rights regarding your store data, including:
- The right to access the personal and operational data we hold about your account.
- The right to request correction or deletion of your operational data.
- The right to withdraw consent by uninstalling the App at any time.
To exercise these rights, contact us at the email provided below.
7. Security
We take the security of your store data seriously. Access tokens and configuration logs are encrypted in transit using SSL/TLS protocols and stored within secure database environments protected by industry-standard access controls.
